Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture

  • Architectural registration or on the path to registration – preferred

  • Design and construction document development

  • Familiarity with construction administration process (RFI’s, submittals, and punch lists)

  • Work with clients and team members on all aspects of a project – schematic design through construction administration.

  • The ability to self-direct, multi task and manage support staff

  • Strong visual and verbal communication and organizational skills

  • Proficient in AutoCAD with experience in Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of Revit, 3D Modeling, Sketch-Up, and Adobe Creative Suite (desirable)

Structural Engineer

Type of Employment: Full Time
Experience Levels:  Structural Designer

Results to be achieved: To ensure the completion of drawings and renderings in AutoCAD software and any associated research for all engineering projects that are assigned to the CAD designer. To do this on a timely basis, effectively, productively, and efficiently To stay up-to-date via in-house and off-line training on the latest technologies, techniques, and best-practices of CAD design. Must know and understand how to use and maintain applicable software and design tools, equipment, and machines.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • To help Triad Design Group in general and the Structural Engineering group, in particular, to achieve its revenue and profitability goals by delivering quality design service in a timely fashion.

  • To communicate with team and project managers as needed to meet schedules and maintain efficiency, productivity and thus, high utilization. Makes simple decisions but refers most questions and problems to engineers or supervisor.

  • Plan and prepare preliminary layouts and detailed design drawings from engineering notes, sketches, and/or other drawings. Create or revise production drawings for engineers.

  • Work completely autonomously. Communicate with engineers, architects, project managers and other project team members and lower level staff regarding important information, progress and revisions.

  • Manage, supervise, train and mentor any direct reports or any staff on project team.

  • Conduct quality assurance

  • Develop CAD software tools/subprograms to streamline production

  • Set up and maintain an organized file system for production drawings

  • Track hours per project to ensure matching of billable hours to non-billable hours by project and customer.

  • Develop designs with software and creates and revises production drawings.

  • Makes final sketch of proposed drawing and draws finished designs from sketches. 

  • Updates Drafting and Engineering Standards

  • Converts existing production drawings to SolidWorks.

  • Work Environment: While preforming the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the work environment Is usually moderate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • Engineering registration or on the path to registration – preferred

  • Design and construction document development in the area of site development

  • Experience in all aspects of site design including site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management and erosion and sedimentation control.

  • Familiarity with current codes, design guidelines, and stormwater management practices

  • Familiarity with construction administration process (RFI’s, submittals, and punch lists)

  • Work with clients and team members on all aspects of a project – schematic design through construction administration.

  • The ability to self-direct, multi task and manage support staff

  • Strong visual and verbal communication and organizational skills

  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred with experience in Microsoft Office
